About the Founder
Lectris Was founded by William Edward Henson III. William Henson is currently 21 years old and is a Student at Belmont University finishing up his final year as an Entrepreneurship major. He grew up watching movies such as Fast and Furious and the Dukes of Hazzard which had a huge influence for his love for speed. William’s childhood consisted of a mix of mechanical projects such as engine swapping a Kawasaki 610 and working on dirt bikes. The project that majorly influenced his drive towards Lectris was engining swapping a V-twin into a Kawasaki mule 610 and making it go twice as fast compared to factory. This project made William realize that he could do this with anything. Take a very practical machine and make it into the absolute best it could be. This is his vision with Lectris.
Check out the in depth story of the V-twin Nitrous Swapped Kawasaki 610 that led to Lectris and the story of the evolution of the Lectris SP below.
Nitrous V-Twin Kawasaki Mule 610
When William Henson was 14 years old he had a kawasaki mule 610 which had a top speed of about 20 mph. After riding it for a while he got very bored of the power and asked his grandpa if he could make it faster. William intially wanted to put a 350 V8 motor in it but his grandpa was not about to let his grandson kill himself. What William and his grandfather decided on was a 770CC kawasaki V-twin which would provide twice the power, torque, cyclinders, and fun compared to factory. After over a year of hard work the project was finally complete. This machine after some testing and development was able to reach a little over 40 mph, accelerate twice as fast from factory, and sounded like a Harley Davidson. It does not stop there as William decided it still was not enough. Since it was not enough of an upgrade William and his grandpa ended up putting nitrous oxide on the motor and blowing it up three seperate times. Through this process William learned an imense amount of knowledge about powertrain systems and building them. This is how William was able to build the Lectris SP at 19 years old.

Lectris SP
After the Nitrous v-twin Kawasaki mule project, William and his grandpa wanted to start a new project. This project was going to be focused on building the fastest gas stand-up scooter. They planned to put a Predator 212cc motor on this frame they had from an Uber scoot 2X. This motor would have quadrupled the displacement of the older engine. Unfortunately, William had to move to college to get his degree in business, so the project was put off. Two years later, William finds this scooter frame he and his grandpa were going to work on together and sees enormous potential in it. William took the scooter frame back to college with him and got to work on an electric over hall on the original gas scooter frame. This led to the Lectris SP prototype 01 being created, which can achieve a maximum top speed of 50 mph while accelerating to 30 mph in roughly 1.5 seconds. He doubled the top speed, tripled the power, and quadrupled the acceleration from factory. After building this beast, William door dashed with it around Nashville for all of his sophomore year. People would always ask where he got it and where they could buy one just about every time he took it out. This led to the idea of creating one that makes sense for production. During William’s Junior year, he committed to making Lectris, a high-performance electric mini motorcycle company that would make a motorcycle that is like no other. It would incorporate the performance and comfortability of a motorcycle but provide the practicality of being the size of your normal stand up scooter. This machine would achieve 70 mph, accelerate to 30 mph in 1.5 seconds, and have double the power and structural integrity compared to the original prototype. This is how the Lectris SP production prototype was created.
